WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE YOURSELF AT WORK?
It’s not surprising to learn that most people feel like they aren’t able to be their true selves at work. In a recent study by Harvard Business Review, more than 50% of people said they are unhappy in their job. I believe this is something that a lot of leaders and organizations are overlooking.
How can you be truly engaged at work
if you’re not able to be yourself?
While we must not forget that even just the ability to bring your whole self to work is a privilege, we cannot ignore the fact that most people feel like, for some reason or another, they can’t. Many of us will spend around 100,000 hours working in our lifetimes. That is an awful lot of time to pretend to be someone you're not or have to act a certain way in order to feel confident, capable, and respected.
I’ve made it my mission to change the way people show up at work, and in turn how connected, engaged, and motivated they feel while they are there.
